Just another day at the office - Thomas Cook style
Villa Reps
"As I was previously the Deputy Manager of a large retail store, becoming a Villa Rep was certainly a huge career move. But it’s been a move well worth making. I feel very lucky to be part of such a great team, and truly wear my Thomas Cook badge with pride.
There’s no typical day which, along with meeting new people, is something I really love about the job. But it usually starts around 8.30am. On arrivals day, the first welcome meeting begins at 1pm, and they continue throughout the day until 7pm. That’s when I usually finish but, as I’m happy to be available for guests 24 hours a day if they need help, it can often be much later.
That’s why you need to be 100% committed to the role, with lots of dedication and the ability to build immediate rapport with your guests. You also need a lot of self-discipline. Especially as you spend a lot of time on your own driving around (it’s easy to get distracted by all the beautiful scenery).
I get a great deal of job satisfaction being there for my clients and resolving any issues that may arise during their stay with us. And having a great team around you is a benefit big benefit when it comes to a social life. In short, it’s a very rewarding role in the most luxurious locations. With all those inviting villa pools to try out, it’s just a shame I can’t wear my bikini to work."
