Transfer Reps

"After working in the catering industry, I joined Thomas Cook in April 2009 as a Transfer Rep in Mallorca. And I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. I now wake up really looking forward to the day ahead. That’s because I know it’s going to be different from the last, which makes the job a whole lot more fun.

The days are long though, and they typically start between 5am and 6am when I take reps out to the hotels to start their transfers. It’s then straight off to the airport do my own transfers, then back to the hotel. The day could finish late with me guiding one of the many nights out we have for our guests, which are always great fun.

To be a successful Transfer Rep you need confidence, patience and, above all, people skills. You also need to be very flexible, as a short day could often turn into a long one. As for the benefits, being part of a great team is the one of the best. The people you work with become like your family over the season. I also like having the option of working winter or summer anywhere in the world.

It’s such a great job that after just six months, I decided I wanted to continue working for Thomas Cook and make a real career for myself. The hours are long and the work is hard, but it’s still a great job. And lots of fun too."
