The daily commute - Thomas Cook style

Overseas Reps

"I became a Rep after leaving college, having decided I wanted to see a bit of the world and get some sunshine. Since then, I’ve worked in Menorca, Fuerteventura, Portugal and Mallorca. And I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.

My busy week includes trips to and from the airport, doing welcome introductions for new arrivals, advising guests on where to go and what to see and helping them with everyday things and, occasionally, bigger issues. Some weeks are harder than others and the hours are long, but seeing my customers enjoy their holiday makes it all very worthwhile.

You must certainly be willing to put in the hard work and go the extra mile for your customers. An organised approach, a caring nature and good listening skills are all pretty important too.

The best part of the job is the team I work with. We always make the most of our free time by going to the beach together, or even just chilling out, making a meal or watching a film.

I’m surrounded by people who want to enjoy their holiday and people who want to enjoy their working season. This creates a positive atmosphere which is almost addictive. Which is why I’m loving every moment of it."
